This goes out to all the negative energy stricken, petrified people out there. A story that my recent good friend narrated to me which was an eye opener for him, struck me with a bang. A story of a woman with a melted face and how petrified he was to talk to her.
We all are petrified about something everyday. For some its a rat/ a snake/ a gang of bullies/ a lecture of the most insensitive(just seems so) professor / a relationship and for some its bigger- Its Life! Life poses so many challenges just so unexpected that, we are scared as of what is next. We are so conditioned to work for fulfilling our basic needs such as food shelter sex etc that we are pertified of our experiences in life and forget to live it. Everything that we do is with a goal to excel and win because we are afraid to lose in this race of life. This fear when heightens in the minds of certain unstable people, they choose to end it all.
Why is that its tough to interact with people without assessing them and not be careful while choosing a friend? Why is a mom petrified of feeding her child pani puri during the rainy season? Why is a woman pertified of walking alone on the streets at 12 am? Why is it petrfying to try new things in life? Why is it petrfying to introspect yourself and accept that your wrong? Why is it petrifying to make a mistake and default? Why is it petrfying to accept something that is unusual and that the society doesnt accept? Why is something always in life so petrifying?
Well the solution to end this chain of mental torture came from the story my friend narrated. Well the moment he talked to the lady with the melted face, he realised how wrong it was not to approach the lady just because she wasnt the usual. She was the liveliest and most engaging person he had met in that old age home. She cracked a joke and quoted a shayari. She asked him not to judge a person by their looks but to respect them for what they are from within. The whole conversation involved the transit of a petrified friend of mine to a pleasant happy and overwhelmed friend of mine. Irony! Irony is the word that essays this transition.
Very often we are to petrified that we forget to enjoy the beauty of life, friends, and every other thing that relates to us. Its a preassumption that things might not go well. But yes as the irony has it, its these moments and things that make life worth living. Its these moments that end up turning the most fun, happy and memorable. These are moments that prove to you that all that ends, ends well and that, being scared wouldn't help at any point in time.
Quoting a best friend of mine- 'Life is too funny to be taken seriously, so why not enjoy all the topsy turvies!'
Good one. Please take care to dot the 'i's and cross the 't's.
